HA! When I was 10 or 11, we adopted the cat from the people next door, who moved away and deserted her. Of course, she was pregnant. We had no problem finding homes for most of her kittens, as they were very cute and friendly. There was one, however, who would yowl (Siamese, so imagine the voice), dig, walk behind the books on the bookshelf and push the books on the floor, scratch furniture, etc. We had her for a LONGGG time, and we had all kinds of ads in the paper, about what a sweet cute cat she was. Never a call. My mom finally got frustrated and said something pretty darned similar to the ad you posted there, and what do you know, some college students who wanted a cat with 'character' adopted her two or three days later. :)

That add and J's comments above give me a great idea of my daughter's old cat. She's moves away and we get stuck taking care of her. Hubby and I are not exactly pet people. Anyway, the cat definitely has character!

Awwww! I feel so sorry for the dog, I almost want to adopt it! But I won't!

We were 'given' a Jack Russell two years ago and we adored it. The owner just gave him to us and we happily took him in. Well, it turned out that the dog was really sweet, but he was tempermental. He'd run away all the time, snap at kids, he ate my birds and was just a crabby old thing. As much as I really had a soft spot for him, I had to give him back to his owner. I can't have a dog that snaps at kids when I have my nieces, my students and my friends' kids around.

Hey, if I weren't happily married, that could be MY 'personal' ad! LOL
