a bizarre thing happened...

only in the blog world would something so bizarre occur.

yesterday i posted the funny clip from the local paper, and i'm not even going to write the name of the celebrity it was concerning. scroll down if you didn't see it already. later in the day, i noticed my stat counter was already at an all-time daily high for page loads. huh?

i did a little cyber-sleuthing, and uncovered a sordid world of meanness. apparently, haters of this particular crooner (below mentioned) regularly troll the internet for nasty little tidbits about him to post to their hater websites. mine was discovered, and copied in the comments section of this post with a link. by the end of the day, all things told, my site was loaded approximately 4 times more than usual. i wrote a thank-you to the guy who wrote the mean post-- my humble little blog turned superstar for a whole day!

i had another stroke of luck yesterday, you'll never believe this one. my friend zuzu's husband runs an ad agency in durham. they had a british designer shoe company client who gave them shoe samples... and guess who benefitted? ME! check 'em out kids--

i'll have to learn how to walk in 4" heels 'cause they are too cute for words. free shoes and free handbags must be the best thing for a girl.

Wow, it amazes me that people actually hate Clay Aiken...I mean why? Why spend so much time and energy on something like that? I am baffled!

On the other hand, I'm happy your blog had so much exposure :)

COOL shoes!! If I had to wear the 4 inch ones, I think I would have to just stand on a conveyor belt to move around. I'm pretty sure I couldn't walk around in them :)

I'm not a fan of Clay Aiken, but I don't hate the guy. That seems odd that people feel so strongly about him. I guess they have nothing else better to do with their time than hate on the guy.
Awesome that you benefited from the shoe designer thing. Can you send me a couple pairs too! ;)

Just call you "superstar!" LOL

Love the shoes. You did make out big with them.

Ok, those are HOT. As for the Clay Aiken thing, mean people suck.

Why do people even care at all about Clay Aiken or any othe celeb they don't even know?
I am jealous about the shoes, they are great. I wish I had somewhere to wear shoes like that. Since I've lived in Vermont(1993) I have worn high heels twice. I do have a silent rebellion going on against clogs and any other clumpy shoes, but I don't think anyone notices!

ml-- yeah! i wish we had conveyor belts like the jetsons so we could look cool without the awkwardness.

beenzzz-- wish i had shoes for everybody! all i have is bags. want one?

ally bean-- it was news to me, too, until my rude awakening yesterday!

secret pal-- that's me! the geeky superstar of yesterday's internet.

autumn's mom-- especially people who are mean about such really trivial things. like tyra's thighs. WHO CARES?

gmcountrymama-- i applaud your anti-clog efforts, even if no one else notices! we need to find you a good excuse to wear heels. how 'bout the grocery store? :)

People hate Clay Aiken? He's such a harmless guy! Ohhhh, those shoes are the cutest Melissa, you are a lucky girl! Wait till I show them to N. she's going to turn green with envy.

Hope you're having a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Excellent shoes! Did you win the jackpot because of your shoe-size? I had to read yesterday's post to get what you were talking about but it's still a little fuzzy. Was Mr. Aiken a beloved or hated American Idol contestant? (I live under a rock in Italy, sorry)

lotus-- i don't get the hate, either. different strokes, huh?

da mommy-- wish i had the $$ to get outfits to go with! for now, they'll need to "match" things i already own.

susan-- clay (who lives near here) was on the show like 4 years ago! he came in 2nd, but had a successful album or 2 after the show. there are rumors/ tabloid speculations about his sexuality, but this underworld dedicated to him is new to me. i'm a little fuzzy, too, so you're not under the lovely italian rock as much as you think you are!

Good for you - now you have something special to wear for when you go car-gazing this weekend.

You actually know someone named Zuzu? The only time I ever hear that name is when Jimmy Stewart is jumping up and down about having Zuzu's petals in his coat. Hmm...come to think of it, there was actually a band called "Zuzu's Petals"....

I live such a sheltered life! LOL!

Those shoes are soooo cute. You have to wear them! YOu have to learn how to walk in them because they are too cute to stay in your closet.

By the way, I am guessing you are feeling better these days?
