there's a stormtrooper on my driveway!

you always have to stay tuned at our house, 'cause you NEVER know what might happen next.

when we got home from dance class, there was a stormtrooper and some imperial officers in our driveway!
they came into our home and invaded our kitchen...

they proceeded to seize control of our children!

they blasted their way out to the studio...

where they presented tommy with the almost-unheard-of honorary membership into the 501st legion. he is now an official plaque-toting, card-carrying member, and will soon even have his own collector's trading card. why? for his contributions to star wars through his art.

ain't it cool? what a fun day for us all.

Was the whole neighborhood freaking out? Were all the kids trying to get into your house?

Can I come over?

HOW COOL!!!!!

Congrats Tommy!

andie-- unfortunately, it was raining, and none of the rest of the 'hood can see our house anyway. we tried to call a few friends, but nobody picked up.

and, SURE! come on by! although it's a much more mundane existence, usually.

It was definately a fun day. It was nice meeting you Melissa and the kids, and seeing Tommy again. It was cool hearing about his work, and I think we surprised him. You two have awesome kids too!! Your daughter was cute in her Jango costume. Here's a link to my pictures from yesterday. I hope you had a nice Mother's Day. Tommy should be on the web site soon and I posted something about the induction on our forums.

I just found you from Andie's blog. I like your blog a lot. But with cute kids, Ernie and Storm troopers, what's not to like, right?

How totally awesome! What an honor for Tommy - please pass my congratulations on to him. What kind of credentials do I need to become a neighbor? I'd love to join the visiting with you and Lotus. AND if some Star Wars characters show up, it would be just that much more fantastic!

BTW - you mentioned being in Michigan this summer. Where and when? Our trip will be in July, but it will consist of 1 night in Mackinaw City and 1 day driving to London, Canada.

Congratulations to Tommy! Melissa, would you be able to update the link you have to the "501st garrison" to "501st Legion" using this URL: www.501st.com

You are actually linking to an old page that will be disabled soon. Thanks!

Hi, Melissa! Just wanted to thank you and Tommy and the children for letting us invade your home, tour the studio and present Tommy Lee with an honorary 501st membership! We really appreciate you both opening your home to us, and we had a great time visiting with you all. Hope you had a great Mother's Day, and hopefully a few of us will run into you both at Celebration IV!

Man, and all I did on Saturday was garden and clean house. Not one Stormtrooper to be seen around here. You live an exciting life!!

hellomelissa said...

dean-- mission accomplished. thanks for the heads-up!

cher-- my kids have been the envy of all their classmates since y'all were here. THANK YOU not only for being here, but for the honor as well.

ally bean-- no stormtroopers in the garden? the 501st will have to remedy that! :) or i'll dress like chewie, and when you see me in the garden, you'll call 911.

If storm troopers passed by here I would be calling the UFO investigators! That's soo cool!!

Sad to say - Will not be able to get to Ludington.

OMG, what a blast that must have been! Congrats to hubby.

booklogged-- until the next time we are in the same vicinity, then.

colleen-- hey! i was just gonna go buy one of your books on booklogged's recommendation! i'm honored to have you here, and did you know my husband and i graduated from brighton high school in 1991?! small world.

gmcm-- pretty much no.

No way! That's so cool you're from Brighton.

The even weirder thing is, the winner from Booklogged's contest...she's from Southfield. Small, small world!

Thanks for coming by my blog and for planning to buy my book! THE REST FALLS AWAY is out now, and RISES THE NIGHT comes in June. (But you probably knew that.)

WTH?

I just HATE it when StormTroopers invade my kitchen too.
Apparently it's a problem that is becoming QUITE prominent...

I am sooo jealous!

What a cool story! I bet everyone in your household was crazy with excitement!

Jay said...

That's the weirdest thing I've heard all day.

And I expect no less from you, of course.

Da Mommy said...

wow, just when I think your life cannot get any cooler you go and prove me WRONG! So cool!!
Sadly, I will not be getting to Ludington this summer either...everyone around here is doing "school stuff" for the summer. I guess the fun had to stop sometime....

hellomelissa said...

lainey-- it's an epidemic! hide your children!

nessie-- what would you do if some stormtroopers knocked on your door?

angela-- they were too overwhelmed to be crazy. it was more "shock and awe"!

jay-- wow, in the 'hood you live in i'm surprised that i qualified for the weirdest thing you heard all day!

da mommy-- maybe next time, eh?
