while lying in bed this morning, somewhere between consciousness and sleep, i thought, "how lucky am i?"
one cat on the bed purring loudly, the other cat on my back purring almost as loudly, and the two of them together making the whole bed seem to rumble. the cat on my back is massaging with his front paws, nice and relaxing.
upon my feet lies the nice, warm, furry dog.
do we live in the lap of luxury or what?

That does sound like paradise! Can I come over and take a nap with your pets. Our kitty Izzie likes to sleep on our heads. She literally lays on her heads. It's really sweet, but sometimes I wake up with a sore neck!
My cat Cokee, every morning, has to get under the covers with me. All the way under. I call her my heating pad.She is so soft and warm. It only drives me crazy if she moves to much and I can't go back to sleep.

I never grew up with pets so a dog or cat at the foot of the bed would cause me to have INSOMNIA! I'm a WIMP!!
I don't have any pets anymore but I remember our cat would snuggle up to me to keep me warm. :)Now my son does that. :)
