making the switch

we're making the switch from pc to dell for our home computer. we already use mac for work and travel, but our house had a dell because we needed satellite internet when we first moved to the boonies and satellite internet needed a pc. now that the pc is 5 years old and so slow and outdated as to be nearly unusable, we have dsl internet. problem solved, we can switch back to mac.

it's an interesting transition, and is taking loads of time to get all our "stuff" from one to the other. i think in the end of it all we'll be far happier. already i'm far happier with the SPEED!

and guess who's the lucky recipient of the dell?? mom n dad when they come to visit. lucky them!

YES!

We had an HP, and really liked it. Didn't love it though, ever. We'd been lusting after Macs and wanted to go back for years. We finally did and have not regretted it in the least!

Our 5 year old son (and the in-laws when they come in town) is now the PC master. He can HAVE it!

Yeah! A new computer. You're right, once it's all set up, you'll love it!

hmmmm....
I wouldn't know how to use a Mac.
I'd have to spend a lot of time getting used to it...

But, congrats!

I am seriously considering Mac. However, I have never used one prior. What is your views between the two?

andie d-- although i prefer the mac also, it's still an adjustment!

ml-- i'm already in love.

lainey-painey-- it's honestly not that much different anymore.

secret pal-- (see above) and also, you can get parallels installed on any new mac which essentially means that you can run windows OR mac on your mac. cool, huh? we decided to give in completely, so didn't do the parallels thing.

I never had a MAC, but I heard they are good. I can't get DSL where I am and probably never will. I suffer with dial up because I can't afford Satellite connection. Maybe when, if I ever decide to go back to work full time. Nah, probably never.

Change is good. A speedy and new computer is cool.

We have macs and a defunct compaq in the house. I LOVE MAC NOW! DSL ROCKS! My brother for the longest time had dial up it was so archaic!
