conversing

the following is an actual conversation between me and my 4 year old daughter today in the car. we were discussing safety, and the subject of strangers came up.

me: are your teachers strangers?

her: no!

me: is daddy a stranger?

her: no!

me: is austin's mommy a stranger?

her: no!

me: am i a stranger?

her: sometimes!

and here i thought i was hiding my dr jekyll and mrs hyde personality SO WELL.

Out of the mouths of babes.........Don't you just love her?

Returned home safely about 4:30. You were just dying to know that!!

That was too funny!

Maya took a class in 'stranger danger' once, and I remember how the instructor defined 'stranger'.

"Does your teacher know where you live?"

No.

Does your teacher come over for dinner?

No.

Does your teacher call to chat on the phone?

No.

Then, even though you KNOW your teacher, you don't know them well enough to get in their car.

Interesting.
